Dr Joy Thomas is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist, Department of Cardiology (Interventional Cardiology & Cardiac ElectroPhysiology), Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Vanagaram. He did Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at St Lukes Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA under Prof.Masood Akhtar after obtaining DM in Cardiology from the prestigious GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi. Earlier he had trained in the Cardiology Department of Railway Hospital, Perambur from 1992, where he did the First RadioFrequency Ablation for Cardiac Arrhythmias under the guidance of Prof. K.A.Abraham. He has attended regular sabbaticals at Lahey Clinic and Brigham's at Harward, Boston, USA; a Thomas Peter visiting Fellow at
Sinai Samaritan Hospital and University of California, Van Geffen Hospital, Los Angeles, USA.
An interventional Cardiologist with proficiency in Coronary, Peripheral and Carotid interventions, Valvuloplasties and Device closure of Congenital Cardiac Defects (Holes in the Heart) besides Cardiac Electrophysiology procedures such as device implants and radiofrequency ablation for heart Rhythm disorders.
